I always cringe a little when a website asks for my phone number and I can't bypass it...

"Learn In The Next Few Days The Secrets To Writing Jaw Dropping Science Fiction and Fantasy That Took Me Years To Master..."

Promising rather a lot, aren't they?

My own experience is that the only way to learn to write jaw dropping fiction is to spend years writing it for the wastepaper basket.

I agree but then, there may be some things to learn that are very helpful. I don't write this genre, so this is out of playpen. I just report 'em! ;)  :)

So my first problem is the deal-killer - I don't see any fiction books by Michael Masterson (or Mark Morgan Ford, or Mark Ford) which are worth my time to read. If this was a course by George R.R. Martin for $17, I'd be interested. But somebody whose only books are 'get rich quick' books? No thanks. No SF/F pedigree, no interest.

It's cool, Lynn. What you're doing is good. I didn't know about the service, I took a look at it, I researched the author, I made my own decision, I made my personal comment with the hope that others can build on my impression. Perhaps some with try it out and report back - it's just $17. For me, I'd rather save that money and time for an author with an actual pedigree in SF/F instead of someone with a pedigree in collecting seventeen bucks. ;)

Yeah, that's where I landed as well. I did a quick google search and found no books of Sci-fi under his name...immediately crossed him off the list...

But Lynn, please keep posting these!! It's good to stay in the know about these types of things! always appreciated!
