  1. How To Find Amazing Peace Among The Tombstones

Jesus said He has built mansions, places for us to live that are beyond our wildest dreams. And gold is something that will be so abundant in heaven that we will walk on it. Ironic, isn't it? The very things the Lord tells us not to hold tightly to down here will be part of our reward up there! I love this article and was especially touched by above words. Life is fragile and should not be wasted in chasing after things that mean nothing.
  2. Analysis On The Temptation Of Jesus 2

Its nice to have you here again. Today, we will examine the second part of the temptation of Jesus. It can be found in Luke 4:5. WEALTH AND POWER OF THE WORLD: In Luke 4:5, the Devil took Jesus to a high mountain and showed Him all the Kingdoms of the world and he said I will give you all the power and wealth if you bow down and worship me. And Jesus replied; It is written " worship the Lord your God and serve only Him". In the book of Genesis 1:26, God said; "let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion ... over all the earth". Money is man made, what man creates is beneath him but unfortunately money controls a large majority of men. Robert Walser said; money rules the world. Does it really? Prosperity was part of man's dominion mandate but he sold it out to the devil after his obedience at the Garden of Eden. Thanks be to the Lord who purchased us back with His Blood and gave us back our heritage. "For your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9)" However, 'wealth' in this context does not imply material wealth but all round blessings. In Acts 3:6; Peter told the man born lame from his mother's womb, silver and gold I have not but what I have I give to you. Silver and gold signifies money, it is limited to only things you can buy. Christian wealth is generational and endless. Personally, I have come to discover that no matter how much you own, the only one who can satisfy the human heart is the one who created it. I have met many rich men and women who are unhappy. One of the misunderstandings among those in the Body of Christ, is many build their prayer line on a GIVE ME, GIVE ME meditation. Few persons hunger to be close to the LORD. Let me say this, when Jesus died, Mary Magdalene did not go to the tomb to get anything from the MASTER, the bible records she went with oil to anoint His body and He revealed Himself to her. Many Christians run to God when they have problems, healing is a part of God, riches is a part of God, power is a part of God but a relationship with God is all of God. If you want the full package, seek God and He will give you the whole of Him which includes, relationship, love, healing, wealth, joy and so much more. This second temptation of Jesus is a test of character. In John 12:31 the Devil is called the "ruler of this world," but he does not have outright ownership. Satan entices you with much but he will rob you of every penny. He is the father of lies (John 8:44). Jesus did not trade His love for the Father for anything the world can give. This world is temporal, let reach out for the eternal. I remember, a lady I knew way back in the University, so eager to make money and enjoy the pleasures of this world, she slept with a certain rich man, who gave her some money but spiritually tormented her day and night, even in her dreams and she lost her mind. Hear this! You can desire to build mansions and hotels round the world but if cancer hits you, what do you do with all you have acquired. Life is fragile, everything can be gained and lost in a twinkle of an eye. Do not trade you life for temporary benefits. Do not give up your life for things that mean nothing. The most precious things in life are things you cannot buy or replace. In the parable of the prodigal son, the boy was already blessed in his father's bosom but greed pushed him out of his father's protection, when he left, he did not only take the limited money with him, he lost his father's coverage, blessings, shield and prosperity, he lost everything and in the quest for survival was willing to feed pigs and eat their food. When we are not satisfied with the gifts of God, we will submit to the slavery of the devil. Here are a few Bible verses to study on greed; Hebrews 13:5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 1 Peter 1:24 For “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls. 1 John 2:15-16 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. John 12:43 For they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God. Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Thank you Jesus. Holy Spirit my partner. Shalom!
  3. The Updated Version

In those days I worked for a private firm as a social media journalist, we were very enthusiastic about being the first to break a news on the media platform. However the rotational editor was more interested in updates to that Breaking News. He/She will say; can you get the cause of the incident?. Likewise the Holy Book is filled with updates, a song writer said; 'it is new every morning'. Every time you read a particular verse, the Spirit of God reveals something new. When Jesus was tempted in Luke 4, Satan quoted Psalm 91 when he said; "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: "'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'" but Jesus gave him the updated version, He quoted Deut. 6:16; "Do not put the LORD your God to the test" . The reason we have .arguments among those in the Body of Christ, is because no one wants to hear the updated version, they pick one verse and close their minds to the revelation meaning in other verses and belittle other teachings. When you think you know God totally, He will show you another side. Who can discover the end knowledge of God? Who can graduate from the University of the Holy Spirit? Thank you Holy Spirit, my life partner.
  4. Your Ananias

According to the Vocabulary Dictionary, to belittle means to put down, or to make another person feel as though they aren't important. In order words, it is a cruel way of making someone else seem less important than yourself. I want to point out that, Saul before he became Apostle Paul was well learned, spoke three languages, was a law maker, a great psychologist and an intelligent theologian in the Roman law; between AD 15—20 Saul began his studies of the Hebrew Scriptures in the city of Jerusalem under Rabbi Gamaliel. It was under Gamaliel that Saul would begin an in-depth study of the Law with the famous rabbi but when he met Jesus on his way to Damascus and got blind, Jesus did not send him to a major prophet or general overseer for healing. The Lord send him to an ordinary man known as Ananias who was not famous and had no title to his name. That housemaid may be your Ananias, that driver may be your Ananias, that motor boy may be your Ananias. God confers authority and greatness on man, he does not take it by himself. Treat everyone with kindness. "All flesh is like grace and all its glory like a flower of grass. The grass withers, and flower falls( 1 Peter 1:24)" Thank you Holy Spirit. Shalom!
  5. Kryptonite

Greatness is not measured by trophies, a great man is one who has conquered himself. No matter how expensive a cup is, no one wants to drink from it if its dirty. David is a canvas on which I paint,he overcame many battles, he was strong and anointed but he had a weakness for beautiful women that he slept with another's wife. Everyone has a kryptonite and I do not have an exemption card. Apostle Paul's kryptonite was the death of Christians but when he met grace, he did not reduce from killing 20,000 Christians to 3,000, he stopped entirely. Peter's kypronite was fear to stand on his own and when Jesus was away he denied him. But when he met grace at the upperroom, boldness took over and he preached in the open. Lord in 2018 give us the grace to rise above that kryptonite. HAPPY 2018 LOVELIES!
  6. Ist & 2Nd Adam

I examine the 1st Adam and the 2nd Adam (Thank you Holy Spirit). The devil failed when he tempted Jesus to turn stones to bread (Luke 4) because JESUS IS BREAD, the Bible clearly states that Jesus is the BREAD of life (John 6:35). At the passover feast He gave His body as bread. The Israelites where fed Manna in the wilderness but Jesus said; He is the true bread (John 6:31-33). But when the Devil tempted Eve and said to her if you eat of this fruit you will be like God, did she forget she was already made in the image of God. Genesis 1:26 - "And now we will make man; they will be like us and resemble us". Sometimes the Devil indisguise tempts you with what you already have. Today I celebrate my LORD, one who loved even when His love was under threat. One day I will walk those streets of gold and hear you say WELL DONE. MERRY CHRISTMAS LOVELIES!!!
  7. Remember Christ Is Available

This one of the greatest master piece I have ever read. It is a life changer. Please change it with the world.
  8. The True Test Of Friendship

The Lord always commended those who had great faith but when He was at the cross and in the tomb, there was no record of the centurion solider, his disciples, blind bartimaeus who became healed, Lazarus, the lady at the well or the 10 men healed of leprosy there. Mary Magdalene went to His tomb not because she had faith but because she had great love, a love so great that when she met an empty tomb, she cried they have taken my Lord. The true test of friendship, is loving when there is no advantage. Therefore avoid people who silence your personality because they think you are not SUPERMAN. Superman was Clark Kent, it was not that Clark Kent was Superman. The Lord told Samuel, "I have found a man after my own heart". One of the reasons Samuel found it difficult to locate David was because David was a boy not a man. But God called him by his strength. There is a KID and KING in every man, do not waste your time with anyone who addresses the KID in you. Go to those who accept your flaws and will help you rise above it. Thank you Holy Spirit.
  9. Fundamental Principles Shared By All Religions

Everything in the universe, every plant and animal, every rock, every particle of matter or light wave, is bound by laws which it has no choice but to obey. The Bible tells us that there are laws of nature—“ordinances of heaven and earth” (Jeremiah 33:25). These laws describe the way God normally accomplishes His will in the universe. There are roughly 4,200 religions in the world. There are five basic religions Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam. They have over 25 core principles that run uniformly through the world’s major religious teachings — as put forth by Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha, Krishna, Shankara, Confucius etc. After years of research by different authors and social scientist, they arrived at a conclusion that these fundamental principles cannot be aborted whether one is aware of them or not. It governs the universe. Only the Creator can altered it. However we will examine 7 core principles in this article. They are as follows: 1. One God: All things generate from one access. Whatever name each religion chooses to call divinity, the basic principle of this major religions states, all people and all things are of one essence. Everything originate from One creator. However, Buddhist have different gods and deities. Hinduism belief One Supreme Reality (Brahman) manifested in many gods and goddesses. Other religions who practice one God is Judaism, Deism, Cao Dai, Eckankar, Hare Krishna, New Age, Rastafarianism, Spiritualism, Zoroastrianism etc “The Lord is our God, The Lord is One” -Shema, Hebrew Prayer “Allah is One” - Koran,112:1 “The One is Lord of all the moves” - Rig Veda III.54.8(Hinduism) “There is only One God.” -Chief Seattle 2. Golden Rule: It is also called the ethic of reciprocity. It is a general moral principle. The principle states "don't treat others in a way that you would not like to be treated" OR “Do unto others what you would have them do unto you (Mat. 7:12).” Either way the message is the same. Life they say is a mirror. “All beings long for happiness. Therefore extend thy compassion to all. He who wishes his own happiness, let him cultivate goodwill towards all the world”- Buddha "What is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow: this is the whole Torah; the rest is the explanation; go and learn".— Shabbath folio:31a, Babylonian Talmud" None of you [truly] believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself."— An-Nawawi's Forty Hadith 13 (p. 56) One should never do that to another which one regards as injurious to one’s own self. This, in brief, is the rule of dharma. Other behavior is due to selfish desires.— Brihaspati, Mahabharata 3. Law of Karma: This principle simply means; "what goes around, comes around." Most religions have their own interpretation of karma and warn followers that your choices and actions have consequences. I will examine the principle of Karma only in principle and not in the area of reincarnation. Karma is the Sanskrit word for action. It is equivalent to Newton's law of 'every action must have a reaction'. A good action creates good karma, as does good intent. A bad action creates bad karma, as does bad intent. Buddhism teaches the joy of not being in debt and finding your career path. Still, the things that make us happiest in life are not things we can add up with a whatever deeds they do—good or evil—of such they will be the heirs - Buddhism. Christian Bible states you will reap what you sow(Galatians 6:7). This is the great mystery of human life. Aware or unaware, all are ruled by this inevitable principle. Though in some cases the Lord has shown mercy. 4. Give : Studies have found that the most successful people tend to be givers rather than takers, and religions advocate this idea of selflessness and charity. Christians often use the term "stewardship" when referring to financial giving while Jews use "tzedakah" to refer to "acts of charity" which include charitable giving. A general definition of "charity" is: "A voluntary giving of money or other help to those in need." "Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full--pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap".-Luke 6:38 "Go your ways, oh monks, for the benefit of many, for the happiness of many, out of compassion for the world, for the good, benefit and happiness of gods and men".-Buddha Albert Einstein went so far as to declare that Judaism isn't really a religion, but a tradition that celebrates the beauty of every single life . "(Founder) Guru Nanak said that if you want to meet God, serve the poor people," Johar says. "Be like the flower that gives its fragrance to even the hand that crushes it." - Imam Ali ibn 5. All humans are united: This simply means since we all originate from one source, the world is one family. We are all united regardless of what family we belong to. It can also be referred to as Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is a Sanskrit phrase found in Hindu texts such as the Maha Upanishad, which means "the world is one family". A harm to one maybe a harm to all. Baba said, “The whole universe is our home and all residing in it belong to our family. Every woman is a mother or sister and every man a father or brother. This is all God’s family. You can do service of the highest order only if your thoughts are centered on God. Instead of trying to see God in a particular appearance, it is better to see him in everything.” The bottom line is, life is about the people you're with, a sense of community with those around you; nothing else matters nearly as much. Great success is not in paper notes, it is in service to others. More so, Catholic mass includes, shaking of hands with the strangers "peace be with you" in your pew—I bestow peace on you, you bestow it on me, and at least in that moment everything is right with the world. Islam's five daily prayer practices, for example, bring followers together throughout the day, as do other religion's formal, regular services. “God hath made of one blood all nations that dwell upon the face of the Earth” -Bible, Acts 17:16 “All creatures are members of the one family of God” - Muhammad “Human beings, all, are as head, arms, trunk, and legs unto one another”- The Vedas “One thing we know. All men are brothers”- Chief Seattle 6. Aim for achievements, not money: Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and Judaism seem to agree that more money doesn't always mean more happiness. Material possessions are great, but happiness doesn't come from the items you own. Money can also distract you from the bigger picture, as Jesus said: It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Imam Ali ibn abi Talib says: "The parable of this world is like your shadow - If you stop, it stands still. If you chase it, it distances itself from you." Buddhism teaches the joy of not being in debt and finding your career path. Still, the things that make us happiest in life are not things we can add up with a calculator. 7. Know Yourself: Although religions have very structured practices, self-reflection is strongly encouraged. A Christian writer John Calvin acknowledges that sound wisdom are of two parts; the knowledge of God and of ourselves. Calvin argued that one could not truly know God without knowing oneself and that one couldn't truly know oneself without knowing God. Calvin acknowledged the obvious dilemma in saying, "which one precedes and brings forth the other is not easy to discern." There is need for an intimate relationship with God. Without that, you will only acquire vain knowledge. This explains why we have many persons who can preach perfectly but their personal life lacks direction. They have the talents but no power to control themselves as though they are just entertainers. Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib advises:"One who often thinks and reflects develops his foresight and vision." “If thou seekest hidden treasures, thou shall find the knowledge of God”-Bible, Proverbs “Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave” - Muhammad “True knowledge can only be attained by a human being.”- Krishna “Search with sincerity and in the end you will find the truth.” -Buddha Shalom!!!
  10. The Religious Vs The Righteous

"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal".- 1 Corinthians 13: 1 Men of JEANS are admired, men of POWER are feared, men of WEALTH are envied but men of CHARACTER are trustworthy. Judas ate with Jesus at the last supper, he was part of the evangelical crew, his feet was washed by Jesus, he was the Lord's chief treasure but his uncontrollable love for money eventually led him to betray Jesus. This proves RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES does not equal RIGHTEOUSNESS. The thing that really builds character in us is the faith we have in the character of God. In Exodus 32:1-35, Moses left the Israelite for sometime to meet with God at the mountain but while he was away, the people became anxious and made themselves another god simply because Moses was taking too long to come from the mountain. And though Moses asked the Lord to have mercy on the people but God punished them for that act. God is after our heart, he needs our obedience not religious rites. I attended a burial ceremony and immediately a man standing close to me saw one of the Church ushers in the Church, he was shocked and began to shout; 'how can this wicked man be a church usher'. The Usher was so embarrassed he moved fast to the next roll. So many people in the Body of Christ think their religious activities can cover up their offenses. The Lord knows and sees every hidden wickedness. We are suppose to be the express image of God, not only in our local Church but also in our work place and every where we go to. Another typical instance can be found in 2 Samuel 6, when the Ark of God was brought to Jerusalem. But before it was returned, the Philistines had the Ark, they placed the Ark in Dagon's temple in Ashdod but removed it when the Lord destroyed the idol of Dagon (1 Sam. 5). And the people where smitten with a disease, they removed the Ark from Ashdod to several other cities but in each city the people fell ill, so the Ark was returned to the Israelite. David and all Israelite celebrated its return but the bible records that during the celebration ceremony, they placed the Ark on a rock-in oxen and when Uzzah reached out and took hold of the Ark because the oxen stumbled the Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah and he fell down dead. David was afraid of what had happened and he said, “How can the Ark of the Lord ever come to me?” He did not take the Ark of the Lord with him to the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. The Ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed him and his entire household (2 Samuel 6). Let analyze reasons Uzzah died, Uzzah was the son of Abinadab, chosen by David, to guide the new cart but God does not choose base on personal sentiments. The fact your brother is a pastor does not make you automatically an assistant pastor, the affairs of God is base on divine selection. God had given Israel a pattern for transporting the Ark of the Covenant - the sons of Kohath, the son of Aaron, were given the responsibility of transporting the Ark. The high priest was assigned to cover the Ark with a veil and the sons of Kohath were to carry the Ark on their shoulders (Num. 4:1 -15). But this did not happen. Isn't interesting that though David and the Israelite played musical instruments and danced with all their mind but it did not stop Uzzah from falling dead. Many times we see Church folks sing praises and dance to songs coming from the choir but immediately the Church service is over, just at the church car park, you see the same persons swearing and cursing the church security personnel' for asking them to park their cars properly. This means while they were dancing they were just having a Church experience, Jesus is far from their hearts. This is similar to what happened back in the day when the Ark was brought back to Jerusalem. They did not follow the standards laid by God so Uzzah died. We must understand that religious rites do not cover up for disobedience to God. Likewise the Philistines suffered for placing the Ark in the Dagon temple, when the Israelite placed the Ark of God on their new cart they too ignored the divinely appointed order and substituted their own arrangements. It was until Uzziah fell dead that David had to ask God what was right. One of the problems we have in the Body of Christ is we do things our way and forget to seek God first. David acted without divine orders and it resulted to consequences. Three months later, when David brought the Ark from the house of Obed-edom, he had learned the lesson of following the Lord's pattern. He order, "None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the Lord chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever" (1 Chron. 15:2). The new cart or rock-in oxen is like a parrot who listens to the message of a Pastor and preaches the same message. We all know Parrots can repeat what they hear but a Parrot cannot display the true character of God. We have many people in the Body of Christ who clap their hands all day but their fruits are soar. They clean the Church but only for people to see them and praise them, right inside their homes they are a terror. A taxi man once told him, his wife is a dedicated church member and a member of the christian mothers but for one year she has not allowed him sleep with her. The true identity of Christian life is love. In the new covenant, the Ark of God is in the tablet of our hearts. He lives in us. 1 Corinthians 13, clearly states that no religious action can take the place of love. Jesus used Himself as an typical example at the cross, when he did not curse those who persecuted Him. And maybe blind Bartimaeus who got healed by Him was among those who persecuted him but He prayed they all be forgiven. We are not entertainers we are the express image of Christ. To know Jesus is to live for Jesus. Invite the Holy Spirit and let God live the holiness in you. Many people are in Church but are not growing because they do the works of righteousness without the God of righteousness. We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21) Thank you Holy Spirit. Shalom!
  11. In Acts 25 -26 we read how Paul boldly defended his faith before Porcius Festus, King Agrippa and Felix. Once in Rome, Paul spends two years under house arrest, chained to a guard, but he is finally in the city where he had longed to be for years (Romans 15:23). And while there he has the opportunity to write the epistles Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon. Persecution many-times is a unique opportunity to bring out the greatness in you. The way to succeed in trials is explained in 1 Peter 1:6-7: "In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which perishes, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." Christianity is not all about preaching the Word of God only where you are celebrated but spreading the gospel to the ends of the earth. Being able to stand strong in the face of persecution for your belief and faith in God. In the book of Acts 26:28; Agrippa replied to Paul, "Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?" However, Paul did not relent in his persuasion. Paul spoke with so much boldness as though he was not afraid of death because he knew who he belongs to. He was indeed happy to be a Christian and boasted of his belief in God. Many times we are ashamed of our religion when faced with the so called prestigious men, we respect personality above truth because we need their applause just like Porcius Festus. He was to Paul what Pontius Pilate was to Jesus. He valued peace with the Jews more than justice and, despite determining his prisoner was innocent, sent him to judgment. In his quest for political control, Festus dismissed Paul’s situation as a “dispute . . . about their own religion” (Acts 25:19). Do not be discourage when faced with trials. Trials and tribulations come with both a purpose and a reward. "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. . . . Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him" (James 1:2-4,12). Brethren, "put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand, stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace" - Ephesians 6:13 -15 I love Jesus and am proud to be identified with Him. I am a Christian because Jesus took upon Himself what belongs to us so that we could receive what belongs to Him. Other religions do not put their faith in their prophets but Christianity is the only religion where my Saviour, Jesus, gave His life for me, to take my life from me in order that He may live His life in me. Other reasons are as follows: 1. God does not sleep: When you accept Christ the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in you. The Holy Spirit in the inside of you never sleeps or slumber. Now false gods may sleep, in that they do not answer or respond to people. Remember the story of Elijah? He challenged the priests of Baal and they all gathered together to see which god would answer by sending fire to consume the offerings. But when the priests of Baal called out to Baal nothing happened. And so Elijah taunted them saying of Baal – “Either he is musing, or he is relieving himself, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and must be awakened” – 1 Kings 18:27. But God, our Divine insomnia is always awake. Mummy and daddy will fall asleep because they are weak and vulnerable, He is always awake. Indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep (Psalm 121:4). He watches over me and all of us. He comforts me when there is no one to lean on to. He is closer than a brother, He warns me of any danger and advises me before I make every decision. One in Christ is a majority. His very nature overcomes my weakness. He understands when no one does and he fills every emptiness. He shares a love so beautiful, that a true christian cannot be ashamed to speak of His goodness. 2. Jesus gives peace The coming together of Father and Son into your spirit brings a certain kind of peace that the world cannot give you. Anyone can give up on you but the assurance that you are the Apple of God's eye no matter what happens, brings great joy and peace that no one can take away from you. It is the greatest power that over comes depression. Isaiah 49:16 says we have been engraved in the palm of His Hands. No one can snatch me away from Him because I have been permanently tattooed on the palm of God's Hands. Isn't it interesting that there was a huge storm and everyone in the boat panicked but Jesus was sleeping (Mark 4:38), he had confidence in His Father. The Bible says the sleep of a believer will be sweet and peaceful because he knows the Lord is with him (Proverbs 3:24; Psalm 4:8). This is why Jesus, when He was awakened, rebuked the disciples with the question “Have you still no faith?” (Mark 4:40). Jesus’ deity can make the “winds and water obey” (Luke 8:25). Jesus rescued the apostles from the storm, He is also able to rescue us from the storms of everyday life: sickness, job loss, marriage problems, and even the sting of death (1 Corinthians 15:55). 3. Grace and Mercy I am Christian because the grace of God helps me overcome temptations and empowers me to live a holy life. Grace is a license to overcome sin. Titus 2:11-15 (NIV) - "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good". Apostle Paul is a typical example of the grace and mercy of God. He persecuted Christians and gave approval for Stephen to be killed but its a great mystery that the Lord appeared to him and He became an evangelist. Christianity can transform a thief today to an evangelist and a prostitute to a deceit lady. The mercy of the Lord cannot be measured, it out numbers the sand on the sea shore. We are a mystery of Christ being revealed. It should be remembered at Jesus’ crucifixion, two thieves were crucified beside Him (Luke 23:33–43. But one of the thieves responded in faith to the message of salvation and was taken to paradise that very day. Beloved, no matter how extreme our offense may be and no matter what people think about us, it is never too late to repent, the Lord's loving hands is always open and stretch out to us. This is the very reason why He left His Heavenly throne to reconcile us back to the Father after our first parents sinned. It is remarkable that, while in the excruciating, painful and mind-numbing torment of the cross, the Son of Man had the heart, mind, and will to pray for others ("Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing."Luke 23:34). I am a Christian because God loved me first so much so He sent his only begotten son to die for me, can any parents give up his only child for a friend who hurt him? God did it. He loved me while I was yet a sinner. He loved me to the cross and back. Jesus died for me and did not mind if I will love him back. A love so courageous that did not count its cost. 4. Protection He guides me in the most miracles way (Psalm 91). He sends His Angels to protect me so my foot does not hit against a stone. In a world where Satan causes all manner of afflictions and hardship, Jesus is our strong hold. He has liberated us from every curse and affliction. The righteous run to him and are saved. In Daniel 3:23 three men, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego were thrown into a burning furnace because they refused to bow to other gods. God came to their rescue as He sent a fourth man into the fire and the flames did not burn them but isn't it interesting that those that threw the men into the fire got burnt but the men in the fire were untouched. This is the power of God. One of my testimonies on God's protection is He saved me from snakes. Jesus is also our defender, He did not only save the men thrown to the fire, He vindicated them. I too was slandered and wrongly accused but He rescued me. 5. Great Healer I am a Christian because by His stripes we were healed (Isaiah 53:5), the word “healed” as translated from both Hebrew and Greek, can mean either spiritual or physical healing. Nothing Jesus went through was wasted, every stroke, every pain was all for our good. When Jesus came, He went about doing good, healing the sick, restoring sight to the blind, no case was hopeless to Him for He even raised the dead. The Bible records a woman with the issue of blood for 15years healed by just touching Jesus cloak (Luke 8:43-48). And He is still doing it in the present day. A couple of years ago, I had an accident, afflicted and could not walk for some months but the Lord gave me back my feet. I was sick in my body and breast but He healed me. His healing power is immeasurable. 6. Great Provider Psalm 127:2 says, “It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.” We don’t need to wear ourselves out with our work. God is busy providing for our needs, even while we sleep. I was broke and he provided for me. I was jobless and he gave me a job and a means of survival. The Holy Spirit is always available to give us ideas that will enable us to be financial blessed. And beyond our work – we can let go of our burdens and anxieties for tomorrow and next week and next month. We can let go and rest because God is busy working on all this even as we rest. I am not a Christian because I want to accomplish some aim or goal. I am a Christian because it is evidential truth that God is not dead. His divinity is ever present guiding and watching over His children. Jesus lives and He is always speaking on my behalf, this is why anytime His name is called it produces results. Because Emmanuel lives I expect victory every time. The Bible is God's solution book to us, it never fails and it is alive with power that cannot be comprehended. They are uncountable reasons why I am a Christian but I will stop here. We are am complete in Christ. No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). However, In Mat 10:6; Jesus said:"I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves". When your faith is put on trial even though sheep are proverbially stupid—Jesus counters that notion by saying “be wise as serpents.” So vulnerability, not stupidity, be like snakes, not sheep, when it comes to being smart. I take that to mean that snakes are quick to get out of the way. They go under rock. So we should possess both the snake-intelligence and the dove-innocence, they are both designed to keep the sheep out of trouble. Therefore try to find ways to give your witness in a way that does not bring down unnecessary persecution. More so, be submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Thou mayest do in this as it is in thy heart. If it is in thy heart to fly, fly; if it be in thy heart to stand, stand. Anything but a denial of the truth. He that flies, has warrant to do so; he that stands, has warrant to do so. Yes, the same man may both fly and stand, as the call and working of God with his heart may be. Moses fled, Ex. 2:15; Moses stood, Heb. 11:27. David fled, 1 Sam. 19:12; David stood, 1 Sam. 24:8. Jeremiah fled, Jer. 37:11-12; Jeremiah stood, Jer. 38:17. Christ withdrew himself, Luke 19:10; Christ stood, John 18:1-8. Paul fled, 2 Cor. 11:33; Paul stood, Act 20:22-23. . . . Finally, anyone can preach the Gospel after reading it in his own understanding, only a few can live it. By their fruits we shall know them, our lifestyle should express the Word of God. So that those who are blind can sense it and when people come in contact with you let Christ reflex. Am not a Christian to lift my name up, am a Christian to exalt His name. Accept Jesus today. Thank you Holy Spirit. Shalom!
  12. To speak on Christianity, you need to know firstly why you are a Christian? Why do you wake up early on Sunday morning, get all dress up to go to Church? Is it because it is a routine or you were trained that way? Anyone who holds the microphone is a teacher but how can you teach, if you have not been taught yourself. How can you defend a religion you know nothing about? Yes I am a Christian because the Bible tells me; "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). But Christianity is more of a relationship, it needs to be experienced. I met a young man in a cab who could quote the Bible verses from Genesis to Revelation but he does not have a clue on why Jesus came and died. I was amazed when he said the bible brainwashes. I came to understand that he was forced to go to Church as a kid and forced to recite bible verses by his parents but no one could explain to him reasons why he should have a relationship with God. Sadly now a grown up, he is confused, he believes nothing but his instincts. Like this young man, many youths are trapped in a religion they do not understand and they feel forced to believe what they cannot defend. Is it interesting that those who persecuted Jesus were not pagans but teachers of the law of God, they believed in Moses and Abraham but could not recognize the Son of God. The same God, they claim to worship. DEFINE A CHRISTIAN The disciples where first called Christians in Antioch in Acts 11:25- 26. "Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch". The word “Christian” is used three times in the New Testament (Acts 11:26; 26:28;1 Peter 4:16). The disciples where also called Christians because they identified themselves as followers of Jesus Christ in their behaviour, activity and speech. Christian simply means "follower of Christ". However, going to Church and being a good person does not make you a Christian. The Bible states in Romans 10:9 that If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. This is what makes you a Christian, although you need to believe in your heart. But you need to understand why Christ died to accept Him in your heart. A true Christian is a person who has put faith and trust in the person and work of Jesus Christ, including His death on the cross as payment for sins and His resurrection on the third day. The misunderstanding we have in the Body of Christ is the distinction between THE RELIGIOUS VS THE SAVED. COMPARE CHRISTIANITY WITH OTHER RELIGIONS Christianity is the only religion where the worship in the person of the (Holy Spirit) Spirit of Christ resides in the worshiper. He empowers us to live godly lives. It is the only religion where the Lord of Lords humbled himself to become man, to learn to speak in a language he already knew, to learn to crawl, walk and related with people He already knew. The Word of God was made flesh and dwelled among us (John 1:14). Christianity is the only religion we are taught to love our enemies. And pray for those who persecute us. Every other religion teaches us to earn our way to God, Christianity is the only religion that teaches God demonstrated His love for us even while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8). Other religion have different practices to appease their gods, Christianity is a relationship with our Maker (Psalm 145:18-19). No other religion has an empty tomb. Christians are the only people who follow a leader who died and came back to life (Mat. 28:6). He became our substitute, He is our surety(Col 2:13 -14). He became a curse to redeem us. Jesus took upon Himself what belongs to us so that we could receive what belongs to Him. Therefore, when faced with persecutions, be confident in this; Satan has no authority over the believer in Christ. Christ paid it all in full. He assured us that no trial will test us beyond our ability to bear it, and “he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it” (1 Corinthians 10:13). To be continued (Part 3) - Defense for being a Christian
  13. What do you do when your faith is on trial? One of the most difficult parts of the Christian life, is the fact that becoming a disciple of Christ does not make us immune to life’s trials and tribulations. Jesus did not promise our life will be a bed of roses because we became Christians, but Jesus said be of good courage. He said; "am sending you like sheep among wolves" (Matthew 10:16). In Acts 21-23 we read Apostle Paul's persecution in Jerusalem. He was arrested, imprisoned, convicted and at various stages called to defend his faith. Its no surprise that Paul was arrested, because Jesus said He is sending us as sheep in the midst of wolves, which implies that we will be treated the way wolves treat sheep. We may be dragged to court, flogged, challenged by governors, have parents and children put to death and strongly despised by many but Jesus assures us - 'I have overcome the world'. I cannot help but admire Apostle Paul's dedication to the great commission, the bible states in Act 21:1- 15 that though by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit he was warned by the believers at Tyre and at Caesarea by Prophet Agabus of the persecution in Jerusalem, nevertheless Apostle Paul was not frightened. He said "I am ready not only to be tied up in Jerusalem but even to die there for the sake of the Lord Jesus." Though he was arrested, persecuted and beaten up yet anytime he was called to defend his faith, he will use the opportunity to evangelise. He will speak on the need to be a christian or follow Jesus Christ. The Bible clearly teaches that God loves those who are His children, and He “works all things together for good” for us (Romans 8:28). This must therefore mean that the trials and tribulations He allows in our lives are part of the working together of all things for good. As a believer, we should accept all trials and tribulations must have a divine purpose. After all the Lord told us to walk by faith and not by sight so in all things, God’s ultimate purpose for us is to grow more and more into the image of His Son (Romans 8:29). It is part of the process of sanctification, being set apart for God’s purposes and fitted to live for His glory. However, its not pretense that it is not easy to face tribulations and smile. But let the words in Mat. 5:10 be your comfort; "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for their is the kingdom of Heaven." Believers are commanded to go into the world and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ whether it is comfortable or not, whether there is a societal acceptance or not. The great commission is to spread the Goodnews of Jesus Christ. But how can you preach a message you are not proud of? How can you win souls by the power of the Holy Spirit if you do not know your identity in Christ Jesus? Many Christians do not know why they are Christians. Are you a christian because you were born that way or because your parents take you to Church? To be continued. Part 2 soon.
  14. Complete In Christ

Thank you Dorothy, your positive comment made my day.
  15. Complete In Christ

"And ye are complete in him..."- Colossians 2:10. It is easy to be addicted to compliments but we should not rely on people's approval. Your value does not come from another person approval, it comes from the Creator. Paul teaches in the above verse that we are “complete in Him,” meaning Christ. We need not rely on other people to make us happy. Apostle Peter loved Lord and was always there for Him but when Jesus needed Him the most at the cross, Peter was not there and he denied Jesus three times. Beloved those who celebrate you can also turn around to mock you. Only God endures till the end. God can lead us to kind people but it is important to understand that human beings are not all together perfect. Sometimes your love ones may be in a bad mood or had a hard day at workplace and may want to be left alone. Everyone has his or her challenges once in while, therefore and it will be totally unfair to give someone else the burden or responsibility of always making you happy, its selfish. No one is responsible for your happiness, do not put that extra pressure on them. People may make you feel special and you will feel special but if you are always depending on someone to make you happy, you become needy and insecure. We are complete in Christ. Life is dependent on how God sees you. When you know the Creator of the universe has His Spirit in you and approves you, you should live with your head high. He loved you before you woke up. We are self sufficient in Christ sufficiency. You should not depend on people's applause, you need God's applause. And the Lord will turn the hearts of men for your sake. The Bible states; that when a man's ways pleases the Lord, He will cause even His enemies to be at peace with Him (Prov.16:7). Promotion does not come from people it comes from God. The truth is, no one can meet all your needs only God can. The only one who can satisfy the human soul is the one who made it. Therefore the right attitude is; 'no one owes you anything, you are self- sufficient in Christ'. To expect another person to make you feel happy, secure and fulfilled will leave you disappointed at best and disillusioned at worst. Even a great husband makes a very poor God. Only God Himself can settle those deep heart-needs. Our key verse, Philippians 4:19 reminds us of this, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” If a husband could meet every need his wife has, we’d have no need for God. So, instead of just focusing on finding the right partner, let God work on your heart to help you become the right partner. Marriage is a decision to honour God by honouring the one He has entrusted you. Our goal as Christians is not to seek loved but to be what we want another to be. God wants you to be the conduit through which His character flows, you need to be a reflection of Him. Love is more of a decision you make than a feeling you feel. If you are looking for love then - “delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4). We are complete in Christ, He is our only source of true joy. Finally, humans are created to be exhausted and sleep off but only God is always awake and His hands comforts even while we are asleep. No human being can make you whole, only God can. Brethren, if you live for people's acceptance you will die of their rejection. Quit getting people to apologize to you for not giving you what Christ has already provided. Go to God. Shalom!
